News On

Penny Lane Development Trust

Many of the local residents are still asking what goes on

at the Centre.

Why not Press the buzzer and call in.

If a member of staff is available to speak to you they

will be happy to chat and tell you what activities that

we currently have going on.

People are under the assumption that we should be

doing lots of things.  Whilst we agree that we would like

to do more for our community, we can only do what

we are able to with the limited, sometimes none

existing resources.

We have 1 full time staff member and 2 part time work

placements.   We rely on volunteers to help with the garden area and

are always pleased when someone offers to help out.   We are open for

6 days and three evenings per week.

We do have a new newsletter which will appear on this web site.  We

do not have the capacity or resources to print and deliver hundreds to

our community.  Other volunteers help with our web site , fundraising,

leaflet design and events

Classes & Activities

5 variations of Yoga                                             Tai Chi

Chi Kung                                                               Art

Craft                                                                     Reiki

Cook & Taste                                                        Events

We have undertaken a number of fundraising events this year and a

pleased to report that we have been able to keep our room hire prices

to a minimum whilst at the same time keep our classes going strong.

Tourist do come to the centre and we do make them feel very

welcome.  Tourism is part of our sustainable income.

Recently there has been some negativity towards the centre and staff.

Once again all we can say is …. If you NEED or WANT to know anything

about PLDT PLEASE call in and have a chat.

We are doing our best and have turned a grot spot into a beautiful

place which is used to the full and we are accommodating lots of

groups in our community that would have had to go elsewhere had we

not been successful in gaining funding to refurbish the burnt out GM

building.
